Owner Steve Delucia took his time during the pandemic to not only pick the right location for his dream business but also take time to work out every detail. Luckily, he chose our area to open The Little Brown Barrel and the response have been very positive. A great family atmosphere complete with scrumptious food and drink has become a destination for a great night out.

This cute and coffee shop and delicious bakery opened its doors here in northern Schuylkill County in November of 2023 and has been a welcome addition to the business community here. On this month's Eye on the Anthracite Region, we make our first visit to the business community in Pine Grove. Sudzz Apotheca opened it's doors here in southern Schuylkill county in 2023. The venture started because a local family needed natural products for their children. In just a few short month's, this home based business has evolved into a bustling storefront with a wide variety of products from soaps, scrubs and even bug spray all made with natural ingredients.

The Chopping Block began as an idea from unlikely business partners Alex and Jon and ended as a unique state of the art entertainment destination on popular Centre street. Freed's has been providing for the floral needs of the community for decades but almost closed for good in March after the retirement of it's long time owner.
